Seaside Away Day
Saturday 20th July 2024
Come and join us for a typical British family day out - to the seaside!
We are hiring a coach to take us to Hunstation - a typical British seaside town on the north Norfolk coast - where there are lots of things to do for all ages.
What About Food?
You can of course bring a picnic to eat on the beach, but we also plan to organise a fish and chips order for those who would like it.
Schedule For The Day
The plan for the day is as follows:
-
10:00: coach leaves from the bus stop by the Storey's Field Centre (Eddington Avenue, Eddington CB3 1AA).
-
c12:00: arrive in Hunstanton
-
16:30: coach picks us up from Hunstantion Sea Front Coach Park
-
c18:30: coach arrives back at the Storey's Field Centre.
What To Bring With You
We suggest that you bring the following with you:
-
Mobile phone: please bring the mobile phone which you have previously given us the number for – so we can get hold of you if necessary!
-
Sun cream (yes, it might be sunny!)
-
Rain jacket (well, it is Britain...)
-
Sun hat (...but then again it might be sunny!)
-
Swimming costume (if you are going in the sea!)
-
Beach shoes/sliders/flip flops
-
Beach towels
-
Bucket and spade (for building sandcastles!)
-
Food for a picnic lunch (if you are not buying food locally)
-
Bottles of water
-
Cash for ice-creams etc.
Regarding child car seats: please note that the UK government states that, on a coach:
"Children can travel without a child car seat or seat belt, if they’re not available."
(Source: https://www.gov.uk/child-car-seats-the-rules/when-a-child-can-travel-without-a-car-seat)
This means in effect that children are not required by law to use a child car seat on a coach that does not have them already fitted. The coach we are using for this trip is fitted with three point seat belts for the use of all passengers. If you wish to bring your own car seat for your child, you may do so, but please be aware that there are only a limited number of anchor points on the coach for car seats requiring these.
Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult and that the care of children is the responsibility of the adults that accompany them on this visit.
